Welcome to the website of the East Village Residents' Association. We represent the residents of the London Olympic and Paralympic Village, now known as East Village, in Stratford, East London. We are a resident-led group, run by the residents, for the residents.
The residents of East Village are made up of social housing tenants (Triathlon Homes), intermediate renters (Triathlon Homes), shared owners (Triathlon Homes, and private renters (Get Living London). We have the unique privilege of living in the very buildings that housed the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who came from all over the world to represent their countries at the 2012 Olympic Games.
We are a vibrant and diverse community, and as the Residents' Association we aim to be a voice for every single resident of East Village. There are 4,500 homes in East Village, spread over twelve plots. Each plot has an enclosed courtyard for the enjoyment of residents, apart from one which has a roof garden instead, and we are surrounded by beautiful green spaces, with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Hackney Marshes only a stone's throw away. The village is also teeming with restaurants, cafés, and small shops, is well-served by public transport, and is next to Westfield Stratford City shopping centre.
The village's first residents moved in in 2013, and EVRA was founded the following year in response to a number of issues which had arisen. By liaising with the landlords, the East Village Management, and the local police, we aim to help provide effective solutions to residents' concerns, and to make living in our beautiful village as pleasant an experience as possible.
We have monthly committee meetings, as well as monthly meetings with the residents of each individual building, and we also produce a monthly newsletter. Our committee is elected annually at our AGM in January.
Any East Village residents aged 16 or over are welcome to become members of EVRA, and you can sign up using the form on this page.
